Setting up PayPal
How to connect your Thyngs account to your PayPal Business account to accept one-touch payments and donations.
- Log in to your PayPal account and navigate to this URL.
- Click on Request Credentials, or display previously generated credentials by clicking Show.
- Copy the access token shown.
- Log in to your Thyngs account at https://my.thyngs.net
- From the user menu
(top-right of every screen) select Payments & Extensions.
- Select Add Extension for the PayPal payment extension.
- Paste the access token from step 3 into the PayPal Access Token field and click Save.
Your customers can now choose PayPal as their payment method, log in to their PayPal account (or use One Touch) and make their payment.
NB. To make test PayPal payments, you will need to edit the extension, delete the access token, and re-save. Note that if you have any other payment extensions active (e.g. Stripe) then the PayPal option will not show unless it has been activated. We therefore recommend that you test the payment functionality before activating any payment extensions.
