What it is the difference between standalone and floating license?

What it is the difference between standalone and floating license?

Standalone license:

  • Locked to a particular host and cannot be used by any other system.

  • It can be used up to two machines for the same user.

  • Can be used simultaneously

Floating license:

  • A license where many machines may have the software installed, but only a specific number of machines may run it at a time.

  • More economical than purchasing standalone licenses, Instead of purchasing 10 standalone, only purchase the number of Floating Licenses to support the number of concurrent users.

  • You install SimLab floating server on one windows machine, and you can install the Composer on any number of machines.
