FuzeDriveSSD Known Issues

1. Formatting

Issue: Drive format takes a long time after a FuzeDriveSSD was previously used in a FuzeDrive/FuzionX tier
Explanation: Because the VMAP is non-linear with the disk LBA, TRIM requests are being issued in small chunks.
Solution: Use the Secure Erase feature in Fuzion first, then reboot. The FuzeDriveSSD will automatically re-configure itself, and a subsequent format will be very quick.

2. SMART Life Remaining


Issue: The Life Remaining displayed in Fuzion or a SMART tool is lower than expected.
Explanation: This issue is currently under investigation.
A handful of users have reported their life remaining is 85-89% after the first month or two of operation.  If your life remaining is above 90% and it is no longer changing over several weeks, then this is typical and not something to be concerned about, as many of the initial writes occur during the installation of your operating system and all of your programs or games.  Note that if you see a fairly quick initial drop in Life Remaining after installing Windows or moving/downloading a large amount of data to the drive, but it remains above 90% after several weeks and is no longer changing, then this is typical and is not something to be concerned about.  However, if your life remaining is continuing to decline, please contact us ASAP.  Click the "Submit a ticket" button below.  After you have created your ticket, please do the following:
  1. Ensure you're using the latest version of Enmotus Fuzion.
  2. Open Fuzion, click the three bars in the upper right, and choose Send Logs.  Enter the ticket number you received in the automatic e-mail response.
  3. If you're using FuzionX or FuzeDrive software, open an Administrator PowerShell or command prompt, and enter:

ecmd --dumplog
Then enter your ticket number.

Important note: The FuzeDrive SSD algorithms are designed to handle normal or high read-intensive workloads (e.g. gaming, normal business use, etc.)  However, some applications create a significant number of daily or weekly file writes (e.g. Chia coin mining) that exceed the SLC size and the ability for the Enmotus AI algorithms to balance across the SLC-QLC regions.

3. Update Driver

Note: This issue should now be resolved.  Please let us know if this is not the case for you.
Issue: Fuzion fails repeatedly to configure of install the driver.
Explanation: Sometimes Windows Update delivers an old pre-release driver. We're working with Microsoft to resolve this.
Workaround: In the meantime, please download the latest driver here.  If you get an error, please follow these steps:
  1. Open Device Manager
  2. Double-click Storage controllers
  3. Right-click Enmotus NVMe Storage Controller
  4. Choose Update driver
  5. Click "Browse my computer for drivers"
  6. Click "Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer"
  7a. If you see more than one Enmotus NVMe Storage Controller, double-click the one with the latest date.
  7b. If you don't, click Have Disk, then paste "C:\Program Files\Enmotus\FuzeDriveSSD Driver\driver\MiDrive.inf" into the box (or you can click Browse and find it that way).
  8. If it asks you to reboot, do so.  When your PC comes back up, open Fuzion.
  9a. If it's an older version and you still need to configure the FuzeDriveSSD, it should come up with a big screen that asks you to configure.
  9b. If it's the latest version, click the entry for the P200 on the left, then if necessary click the bouncing red button near the top right.
  10. If you need to configure, it will move any data if necessary and reboot.  When your PC comes back up, open Fuzion one more time and make sure there's no further complaints.
