Data Breach

The unauthorized viewing, unauthorized acquisition, accidental publication, or loss of personally information data that compromises its security, confidentiality, or integrity, and which may lead to the accidental or unlawful use, destruction, loss, alteration, or disclosure of personal information, or allow for additional access to other personal information. The incident may be confirmed or suspected. Also, referred to as a ‘breach of security of the system’, and other similar variations. Note, each jurisdiction may have additional specifications as to what constitutes a breach.
